What a Omoda costs per month
The sticker price is the easy part. What most buyers want to know is the monthly instalment, and no published figure will match everyone, because it comes down to four things. The price of the derivative you choose sets the starting point. Your deposit reduces the amount financed, so a larger one lowers every instalment that follows. The term stretches the balance over more months, which cuts the monthly figure while increasing the total interest you pay. And the interest rate is set against your own credit profile, which is why two people can be quoted very differently on the same car.
A balloon payment lowers the instalment further by deferring part of the price to a lump sum at the end of the agreement — useful if the monthly number is the constraint, expensive if you have not planned for the final payment. Dealers and banks will quote the actual figure against the derivative and terms you want, and that quote is the only one worth budgeting against. Ask for it in writing, and check whether it includes the monthly service fee, the initiation fee and insurance, which are easy to leave out of a headline number.
What the Omoda warranty covers
Every Omoda sold in South Africa carries a 5-year or 150 000 km factory warranty, whichever comes first, from the date of first registration. Owners who keep to the servicing terms also qualify for a 1 000 000 km or 10-year engine warranty, which extends engine cover by a further 5 years or 850 000 km subject to Chery International's conditions. Genuine Omoda parts and accessories bought from a dealer are covered for 12 months or 30 000 km, and paintwork is covered for the warranty period provided it is inspected at every service.
Service intervals
The first service falls at 10 000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. The second is at 25 000 km or 12 months after the first. After that, services are every 15 000 km or 12 months. Chery International allows 1 500 km either side, or 30 days, before a service counts as late — and staying inside that window is what protects both the factory warranty and the extended engine warranty. Wheel alignment, balancing and tyre rotation are recommended every 15 000 km and are for the owner's account.
Buying a used Omoda
Omoda has only been in South Africa a few years, so the used market is young and prices move quickly as new model-year cars arrive. What a used one is worth comes down to the same things as anywhere: genuine mileage, an unbroken service record, and whether the car has been in an accident. The complication with Omoda and other Chinese brands is that their build and history records frequently sit outside South African and Western databases, so a standard local check can come back thin or empty. Decoding the VIN against Chinese manufacturer sources is what fills that gap.
Omoda C3 and C4
Both are searched for in South Africa but neither appears in Omoda South Africa's current line-up. If you have been quoted on one locally, confirm with the dealer exactly which model and model year it is, and decode the VIN to establish the vehicle's identity independently.
How to decode a Omoda VIN
Every OmodaVIN follows the same 17-character structure as any other manufacturer: a World Manufacturer Identifier (positions 1–3), a Vehicle Descriptor Section (positions 4–9) covering body style and drivetrain, and a Vehicle Identifier Section (positions 10–17) covering model year and the unique production sequence. Enter the full VIN into the free decoder to confirm it's valid and see the decoded make, model, and year.

The Omoda C5, from R339 900, is the entry point to the range. The C5 X is the next step up at R374 900.
How much is an Omoda per month?
It depends on four things: the price of the car, your deposit, the length of the agreement, and the interest rate you are offered, which is set against your credit profile. A bigger deposit and a shorter term cut the monthly figure; a balloon payment lowers it further but leaves a lump sum owing at the end. Get the quote in writing from a dealer or your bank, and check it includes the service and initiation fees.
Is there an Omoda C9 deal at the moment?
At the time of checking, Omoda South Africa was advertising the C9 Inspire 2WD at R760 000 instead of R785 900, and the C9 Explore AWD at R860 000 instead of R885 900, both on a countdown offer. Promotional pricing is time-limited, so confirm it is still running before planning around it.
What warranty does an Omoda come with?
Five years or 150 000 km, whichever comes first, from first registration. Owners who service the car within the prescribed intervals also qualify for a 1 000 000 km or 10-year engine warranty, adding a further 5 years or 850 000 km of engine cover subject to the published terms.
